Transforming Learning Through Room Transformations
Help me give my students engaging lessons through the use of room transformations. Transforming a room into glow games, Dino-Land, or pollinator-central makes learning fun and engaging again. It can take ordinary learning and make it extraordinary.

My Project
Getting students to engage with learning when they have been through so much is challenging to say the least. Room transformations are one way to re-engage even the most reluctant of learners back into the classroom. Transforming a classroom into Glow Games for test review, Dino-Land to kick off a literacy unit on fossils, or Spy School to work on critical thinking can take an ordinary day and turn it into an extraordinary one.
The items for my project will help students who have had a difficult time engaging with online curriculum and/or limited exposure to pre-school and kindergarten fall in love with learning again.
Not only that, but my hope is to use the items to inspire and/or help other teachers in my building create similar experiences for their own students. I have done several room transformations over the year and the engagement from that one day stretches for weeks if not months. Getting students to re-engage with school after the challenges of the past few years is essential and this project will help me instill a love of learning in the students in my school.
I work in a rural district and resources are limited. Being the only teacher at a grade level means I don't have other teachers to pool my resources with. This project will allow my 26 students to experience learning in a new way and build a life-long love for learning.
