My projects needs 3 types live frogs(tree, fire-belled, and dwarf frogs), 4 sets of microscopic slides, 2 living chambers for frogs, 2 air pumps, and waste filters.

In 1929 Needham Broughton High School began a tradition to educate and equip students with a sense of academic excellence, community commitment, career selection. We are located in the heart of Raleigh, North Carolina. Our high school is the one of the oldest of 17 high schools in Wake County and is a Magnet School in which 20% of its students receive free lunch.
My classroom is known as the Living Zone. High school students take biology and physical science in the Living Zone. Tenth and eleventh graders primarily discover and explore new information about living organisms and experience hands-on lab exercises with a variety of living creatures.
The Masters of Change program allows students to investigate the embryological development of an amphibian as it transforms from the cleavage stage, gastrulation stage, neurulation stage, to a tadpole, and then a frog. Students will experience the opportunity to observe a variety of environmental conditions that can alter the normal developmental stages of frogs.
Students will have the opportunity to microscopically observe the various stages of amphibian frog development. Students will observe frogs over a 2- to 6-week period observing the various stages of development. Students will understand what it means to be a model organism and why a frog is a good model organism for studying possible environmental containment. Students will understand the importance of order and organization in development. Students will link function to form for various stages of frog development and comprehend why we have scientific inquiry into Developmental Biology. Students will place tree frogs and dwarf frogs into small amphibian habitats to study and observe their stages of development. Students will monitor the water conditions, food, and temperature necessary to raise healthy frogs. Since frogs are especially sensitive to many chemicals, pollutants, and ultraviolet light. Some may harm humans and some may not harm us at low levels but will hurt frogs.
Students will learn the life cycles of frogs through literature and observing live animals. Students will generate a vocabulary words learned that would assist them in understanding true facts learned about the metamorphosis of frogs. Student assessments will be performed by grading a book about frogs created by the students; the book will include illustrations and a story explaining the pictures.
