Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My vision is to educate students and parents on the importance of mindfulness and yoga. I want to combine my SEL skills teaching children about the importance of nutrition, mindful eating and organic gardening. I want to enhance my pedagogy, deepen my expertise in mindfulness and yoga, and improve my ability to foster these very important skills that students and parents need for healthy living, healing and social change in my school and community. This training will allow me to strengthen my understanding of yoga with a deeper dive into chair yoga, sequencing, restorative yoga, and yoga philosophy. Additionally, I will develop my capacity as a social-emotional learning and mindfulness expert. This life-changing experience will give me incredible tools and support to catalyze healing and social change
