My Students

I teach a fun, active group of 25 second graders. They love to learn and work together. In second grade, we learn a lot of new skills every day. These students are eager to learn and apply their skills every day!

My students are on a variety of levels in the classroom.

They need engaging ways to practice skills they are missing. My students that are reading above level, need engaging ways to challenge their brains! They need new and exciting experiences to keep them engaged in our curriculum.

My Project

My students love learning and are excited to come to school each day. I try to keep things interesting and fresh each day to keep them engaged. We try to play games to practice new skills as much as we can.

We don't always have the supplies we will need to play new games and transform our classroom into a new environment to engage them.

We need a colored Jenga game to create an engaging way to do worksheets! In our classroom, we try not to do any worksheets. When they are required, I try to find a way to make them into a game. The students can pull a colored block and solve a problem on the worksheet that matches the color block they pull. This is an easy way to make any worksheet more fun!

We need a blacklight, UV tape, and a prize wheel to help us with a room transformation. To help us review for our district test, we will be creating a glow room. The blacklight will help us make our room glow. The UV tape will be used to make items in the room glow. The students will be participating in a variety of glow games to help them review the skills we have learned.

We need lock boxes and locks to use as another engagement tool. These can be used over and over to complete escape room challenges! They will be able to solve problems, enter the codes into the locks, and get their next clue in the lock box. The class will love doing these escapes and they can be used for multiple lessons and concepts.
