Training Our Bodies and Minds

My students need a variety of weighted medicine balls and a strong system for athletic training during the track season and beyond.

My Students

As the technology teacher for our school community, I am posting the project on behalf of our track coach who does not have a DonorsChoose.org account.

Located in Philadelphia, our school is a small but powerful force for positive change.

Students are being given every opportunity to explore and create in a variety of outlets, including athletics. Our school is in its second year and we are slowly adding to our materials and supplies to further help our students succeed.

My Project

This project is being posted on behalf of the track coach at an urban high school. Our students currently have limited training supplies to help build strength during the track season, as well as the off season. In addition to the track team, other students and athletes will have access to the equipment for strength training.

Track is about more than just running and students need to prepare for everything.

The medicine balls will allow our students to complete a variety of strength training exercises which will help them in all aspects of the athletic competitions. Additionally, participating in team sports help build other transferable skills that will help our students in and out of the classroom.
