Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are some of the most hardworking, kindhearted people I know. Sixth grade is a growth year for sure as they transition from upper elementary to middle school. The coronavirus pandemic has added another dimension to an already trying year. Students are working hard through our curriculum independently but require assistance.
While our district has provided curriculum materials for remote learning, there's always room for supplemental tools!
One of my students' favorite projects this year was a Greek Mythology project I purchased on Teachers Pay Teachers. Students loved working together in-person to create hands-on, larger than life Greek god posters. With remote learning now in place, that project has now been digitized. I'm looking for more engaging resources like that!
My Project
As educational demands change with the current state of our world, instructional resources must also adjust accordingly. The Teachers Pay Teachers gift card would allow me to purchase supplemental resources to better support remote learning and independent work stations. The core novels we read in sixth grade lend themselves nicely to project-based learning opportunities.
The Teachers Pay Teachers resources I seek are engaging products created by teachers, for teachers.
I am interested in purchasing Boom card decks for independent station rotations. These self-correcting interactive cards would allow students to receive immediate feedback when distance learning, but also in the classroom when I am occupied with small group instruction.
