Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are eager to learn but are limited in resources. These 156 students live in a rural area where enrichment and engaging activities are limited, and the only place they have access to these kinds of activities is school. We are a Title I school with 100% of our students qualifying for free or reduced price meals. Students took a survey so I would dive deeper on their reading interest and target what they want to ready.
Distance learning is rough as a concept of learning but by giving students tools that will maximize instruction, I am doing my part.
They need the activities so that engagement can be present. If there is a bank of activities to choose from, they are more likely to complete and stay on task.
My Project
Materials such as online science labs, activities, etc. will allow my students to stay engaged during these tough times. Being able to buy resources from TPT which will allow me to reinforce topics learned during my online teaching.
Task cards, vocabulary flashcards, lab activities, web-quests, etc will allow my students to maximize their learning while being at home.
Students will be performing these activities alone, in pairs or in groups to allow for collaboration. These activities will allow students to choose on how they want to show the learning. The more activities that are available, the better the bank for them to choose form.
