This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
As many of you already know, I primarily work with preschool aged students with autism. Most of my kiddos are just starting to learn to communicate with others. Some are starting to use words or simple signs, while others are learning to use picture symbols or high-tech devices to make their wants and needs known. Each child has their own unique interests, so having a variety of highly engaging toys helps me plan speech therapy sessions that motivate students to practice using their new communication skills! Some of the toys on the list, like the jack-in-the-box and the light up toy are toys I already have that are starting to break because of how much they're loved by so many children!
