Toys for Busy Girls and Boys

My students need hands-on toys that will increase their dramatic play experiences. These items will make learning more fun and increase interest in new areas of learning.

My Students

My kindergarten students are active, busy, and growing children who need fun toys to build and play with as they grow and develop important skills.

They all come from diverse backgrounds with many different needs.

When they come together to play and learn in our classroom it is important that they have the proper tools and equipment needed to help them learn and develop certain skills. Otherwise, they might not have the opportunity to be exposed to certain life skills. We have some of these materials in our classroom but would like new, exciting ones to spark our interests!

My Project

These toys and manipulatives will help increase my students' dramatic play experience. I have selected baby dolls, a shopping cart, a cash register, a telephone and other real-world items to simulate important life skills. By using these toys, I will create a playful yet real-world environment in my classroom. Your donation will allow them the opportunity to come in contact with materials and scenarios that are important to learn about. Since a lot of my students come from low-income housing and single-parent homes, they might otherwise not get the chance to be exposed to these scenarios until later in life. My goal for these students is to have all genres and ethnic backgrounds find an interest and play in all of our learning centers. For example, little boys in the housekeeping center and little girls in the blocks center.

Kindergarten is a very important year for their young minds and developmental growth.

With the help of your donation, we can increase our collection and add to our learning centers. This will enhance my students' academic knowledge but also their awareness of real-life situations. Not only will they get excited about playing with our new materials, but they can learn at the same time!
