My Project
The young children I work with that are between the ages of 3-5, most of which have been home since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, have entered preschool with a decreased ability to self regulate and tolerate sensory input. To assist children with the lack of these skills, I chose a variety of sensory items to assist with tactile, visual, auditory, vestibular, oral, and proprioceptive skills. The LED panel I chose will assist with the students lack of visual attention and focus. Other items I chose such as vibrating tubes, noise canceling headphones, chew necklaces, and interlocking tactile toys will also support their sensory and self regulation skill development.
