I teach third grade at a very high-need elementary school. Through learning centers, my students can enhance many of the skills that are taught during the lessons.
Our school has many needs but few resources with which to acquire materials. Our students have illustrated a distinct need to practice mathematics skills. My classroom has a theme of sports, due to the fact that third graders are allowed to play basketball and cheerleading for the very first time in third grade. The ability to connect these very exciting new activities with learning is extremely powerful.
These games would allow the children to apply the skills they have learned during center time and special math activity hours.
Through your extremely generous offer, the students at our school would be given the opportunity to engage in games with friends and illustrate what they are learning, as well as practice the skills they have learned.
