Touch Windows to Learning

My project needs 1 TouchWindow for students to access the computer.

This project is fully funded

I am a Special Education teacher at a Title 1 elementary school in High Point, NC. I teach children in grades K-2 in a Life Skills class setting. These children range in levels of disabilities. Some of the students are physically challenged, while others are not. The students work on daily living skills (dressing, playing, cooking, setting the table, etc.) and academics (ABCs, 123s, shapes, colors, writing, etc). The more physically challenged students often have difficulty accessing things in the classroom, like the computer. These students are very interested in many of the programs that are on the computer but are unable to maneuver the mouse to properly use the software. They often rely on the teacher, assistant, or other students to help them. My goal with this proposal is to provide those students with a Touch Window. The Touch Window will allow the students to touch the picture/item/button on the screen that would otherwise be accessed with the mouse. They would be able to access games as well as learning tools. They would be able to become more independent at the computer and give them a sense of accomplishment. Your contribution would greatly benefit these students and future students to come.
