My Project

The children in my classroom are pre-k and kindergarten students! This is their first step on their educational journey. Most of them are experiencing school and socializing with same-aged peers for the first time. My students are a part of a wonderful and loving school family. At our school, we emphasize the importance of community! My students come to school each day excited to see their friends and eager to explore new topics and materials.

COVID-19 and the pandemic have impacted my students for half of their lives.

I see the rippling effects that the trauma from COVID-19 has caused. Students are falling behind academically before they even begin school. They are taking longer to socialize, regulate and learn necessary academic skills. Through the use of the magnetic letters, sight words, and shapes my students will be able to manipulate and engage with phonological skills in a hands-on way! Through the hands-on learning trays and 3D shapes, my students will be able to manipulate objects in a way that brings these math skills to life! The learning locks will bring excitement and joy to learning about letters, numbers and words! The sensory balls and wobble chair will allow my students to regulate and find their center so that they can be their most successful selves!
