Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach in a low-income community where students are often denied access to everyday instructional material such as glue, stamps, scissors, games, sound spelling cards, etc. because they are considered supplemental material. What others may see as a waste, I see as a necessity.
All students do not learn in the same manner. I have visual learners, kinesthetic learners, tactile learners, and so on. I have to present the same material in seven different ways to ensure mastery of the subject being taught. My students are five years old, and they love to play! They think learning is a game and a game is learning, but we often do not have educational games in our classrooms to fulfill their curiosity and spark an interest in learning.
I would love to welcome my students this school year with a fresh approach. Through a beanbag toss learning center and alphabet activity balls, I can teach my students basic skills! The game comes with a giant board where students will toss the beanbag through holes. Students will be able to reinforce concepts like letters, numbers, shapes and colors.
This is why I am asking for your generous donation. With your help you will ensure that children in America continue to have fun while learning. Sometimes we forget that students are children and that we need to keep their imagination and curiosity alive. Please help me deliver the message to my students that learning is fun!
