it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our classroom would benefit so much from having these supplies! The headphones we are using now in my classroom are three years old and we have been able to preserve them that long which is a true success but the speaker sound is going out in a number of them and we cannot afford not to have fully operable headphones for English Language Learners to use for small group testing as well as with our language and literacy online program that includes language support (in their home language). It is crucial that students can hear their programs well when using their Chromebooks. Also, I currently have two computers in my classroom, one at my desk typically surrounded by "900" post-its and all of my necessary paperwork, and another that is connected to my SMARTboard which is sorely outdated. It is very slow and extremely frustrating that we cannot dive right into our lessons conducted by use of a SMARTboard without waiting for the slow old computer to pull up what we need. We actually joke about it sometimes in class. Maximizing our classroom time is very important to me so that my students will benefit the most from the lessons. My students are so kind and engaged in learning English, they are excited to understand the meanings of words and put them to use!
