Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are eager to learn daily despite the fact that most of them come to school with little or no school supplies. I focus on providing a fun and creative learning environment.
I teach at a Title I school where 100 percent of my students receive free breakfast and lunch daily.
My students are Regular Education and English as a Second Language Learners. Most of my students live in single parent homes. I know I can not change the struggles they face at home, but I can make sure their lives at school are positive, exciting and rewarding.
My Project
Having this TOON Graphic Book Set will allow my students an opportunity to read different types of books. These books can be used for different reading levels. TOON books use language that is reading level appropriate for my students to understand.
Falling in love with graphics is the new learning.
Having fun and exciting pictures will grab my students attention while reading. Using these graphic comic books will introduce my students to different genres, artwork and original stories. Most of my students have never read a comic book but having these TOON Graphic Books in our library will help them broaden their reading experience.
