My students attend an International Baccalaureate® (IB) World school in a large urban school district. Our class is an enthusiastic group of second graders who are eager to learn about the world around them.
Our school's mission is to develop internationally-minded learners that inquire, collaborate, and take action.
My students are developing their reading, writing, and math skills and working to become global citizens. However, my students so not have access modern technology available to them to demonstrate 21st century learning skills.
My Project
My students have a variety of reading abilities and many require pictures to help make meaning of the words on the pages. TOON Books are high quality hard covered and designed to last a long time, so these books will be loved for years to come. This set of fourteen books also addresses the needs of a range of reading abilities in my classroom.
By receiving a set of TOON Books, my students will be able to engage in high interest texts that help them to comprehend through the use of graphics.
With this set of books, my students will learn to become life-long readers!
