My Students

Our school is a Title I school with many students receiving free or reduced-price lunch. Many of the students at our school are considered economically disadvantaged. Some of them live in poverty and have experienced trauma. Despite this harsh reality, they are amazing and capable children who are ambitious and hungry for learning.

I have the privilege of working with 34 first, second, and third grade students who are passionate, curious, and eager to learn!

They come from diverse backgrounds, and each has their own way of learning. My students are working hard to strengthen their literacy skills so they can become successful, literate citizens who will one day make a difference in our community. They are curious, ambitious and deserve the very best!

My Project

These supplies will help us be successful this school year! Since I do not have a traditional classroom, I do not get funding to purchase school supplies for my students. We have been using the small amount of supplies I had left from last school year. But we have already run out of the supplies we need to succeed. My students will use these supplies daily when they come to my room to complete their daily reading intervention lessons.

Your donation will supply us with the writing tools, card stock, glue, and index cards we need to succeed.

With these new supplies, my students will be able to continue creating our interactive reading notebooks. We use the notebooks daily to apply and practice the literacy skills we are working on. Students will take the notebooks home at the end of the year to share and celebrate their learning with their families.
