My Project

I teach a class of 12 amazing kindergarten and first-grade students in a self-contained ESE (Exceptional Student Education) setting. My students have a wide range of learning needs and styles, and they thrive with hands-on, engaging activities that support their development in both fine motor and language skills.

In this project, I’m requesting materials that will build those essential skills in fun and meaningful ways.

A road carpet will encourage imaginative play and language development as students describe where their cars are going, practice taking turns, and build storytelling skills. Paint brushes will help strengthen fine motor control while allowing students to express themselves creatively. A hammering kit will support hand-eye coordination and build the strength and precision needed for tasks like writing and cutting.

These tools aren’t just fun—they’re purposeful. They provide my students with the opportunity to grow through play, hands-on learning, and meaningful interaction. With your support, we’ll create a classroom environment where every child has the tools they need to learn, communicate, and succeed.
