Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our school is a public, all-girls, college prep school part of YWPN in the state of Texas. We emphasize STEAM, and prepare our girls for college from 6th-12th grade. We have a very diverse group of girls; literally, they come from all over El Paso just to come to our school! My girls are smart, kind, motivated, and eager to learn! I have never seen a more hardworking group of students. All of them try their best, and it does not go unnoticed throughout the campus.
My Project
The tools I am requesting for my classroom are some basic tools that are needed to be successful when learning math. They include rulers, protractors, and graphing dry erase boards. I am especially looking forward to having the dry erase boards because my students would be able to use them for quick checks and responses. In all three math classes I teach (8th grade math, Algebra 1, and Algebra 2), there is a lot of graphing and solving. This would be an easy way for me to see who is on the right track and who is not.
