My Project

In an increasingly neurodiversity-affirming world, it is crucial that we recognize and support the unique needs of autistic learners. My project: Tools to Improve Emotional Regulation in Autistic Learners, aims to provide a diverse range of sensory items and fine motor-based activities that will empower autistic students from kindergarten to 8th grade to regulate their emotions effectively. By acknowledging and embracing neurodiversity, we can create an inclusive learning environment that promotes the well-being and development of all students.

Autism is a spectrum, and autistic individuals exhibit a wide range of strengths and challenges.

Emotional regulation can be particularly challenging for many autistic learners due to sensory sensitivities and difficulty in processing emotions. It is essential to recognize that autism is not a deficit but a unique way of experiencing the world. My project seeks to celebrate this uniqueness by offering tailored resources, including fidgets, multi-sensory learning tools, as well as noise-reducing acoustic panels.

This project embodies the spirit of neurodiversity affirmation. By offering sensory items and fine motor-based activities, we are not only supporting emotional regulation but also empowering autistic students to thrive in their own way. This project aligns with the principles of inclusion, understanding, and acceptance, creating an educational environment where all students can flourish. We invite donors to join us in championing the potential of autistic learners and making our classrooms more neurodiversity-affirming. Together, we can make a profound impact on the lives of these incredible individuals.
