My Project
Our classroom garden is growing—and so are our students! To continue supporting our special education learners through hands-on outdoor learning, we need essential supplies: soil, fertilizer, a trellis for our tomato plants, vegetable labels, gardening tools, and an outdoor storage box to keep everything organized and accessible.
These items will help our students build independence, responsibility, and social-emotional skills as they work together to care for our garden.
With the right tools and supports, they will learn how to plant, nurture, and harvest crops while also practicing teamwork, following directions, and problem-solving in a real-world setting.
The outdoor storage box will keep our materials safe and easy to access, while labeled vegetables will support literacy and help students take pride in what they’ve planted. The trellis will allow our tomato plants to grow tall and strong, and the fertilizer and soil will ensure a healthy, productive garden.
Gardening also teaches students to respect and protect the environment. By learning how plants grow and contribute to clean air, healthy soil, and sustainable food, our students will gain a deeper understanding of their impact on the world around them.
With your help, we can keep our garden thriving—and our students growing in every way.
