Tools Needed for Kindergarten Readers

My Students

Kindergarten is such an important and pivotal year in a child's life. It is a year full of excitement and a lot of growth. It is a year filled with learning how to share, how to communicate, how to count and read.

My students are eager, energetic and very curious to learn about the world around them.

They love to jump, sing, play and dance. Their abilities and needs range from just learning the English Language to being beginning readers. However, no matter their abilities we are a family and they strive to do their best every day.

My Project

This project is all about the basics needed to enhance our reading time in our classroom.

We LOVE to read Big Books in our classroom because the print is large and the pictures are easy to see!

However, we have a little problem that we hope you can help us solve. We have been blessed with a variety of high engaging Big Books but they are hard to find when they are stacked on top of each other. I have a Big Book storage rack in my classroom but it cannot be used without having these Big Book Bags. These Big Book Bags allow for our Big Books to be protected in a plastic bag and then hang on a rack. This will help keep our books in great condition and easy to find!

One of our favorite things to use in our classroom are big, bright pointers. They help us learn by following words in books, pointing out letters and words we know and so much more. However, the pointers that we have now are several years old and starting to break. My students desperately need some new pointers to help them with their reading.

These Big Books Bags and pointers will be a great addition to our classroom and allow us to continue to learn while having fun!
