My Project
My second-grade students are full of energy, curiosity, and a genuine love for learning. Each day, they walk into our classroom ready to take on challenges and grow as readers, writers, mathematicians, and creative thinkers. However, many of them face barriers at home that make it difficult to come to school fully prepared. I want to remove that obstacle so they can focus on what matters most—learning, growing, and believing in themselves.
The materials in this project—rulers, dry erase markers, glue sticks, folders, and more—might seem simple, but they are the foundation of a successful classroom.
Dry erase markers help students with math fluency and interactive lessons on their whiteboards. Glue sticks and scissors allow for hands-on learning activities that reinforce reading and writing skills. Rulers support the understanding of measurement and spatial reasoning, critical second-grade math standards. These basic tools also help students stay engaged, organized, and proud of their work. When every child has what they need, they are more likely to participate, collaborate, and reach their full potential.
