My Students
What are we in second grade? We are flexible and organized! My students walk into my classroom every day excited about the new adventures on which I will take them. They are eager to see what each new day will bring, and they are willing to try their very best in every activity they engage in.
My classroom is an inclusion classroom servicing Special Education students in a general education setting.
I have to use a lot of differentiation throughout my school day to be sure I am reaching and allowing each student access to the curriculum to the best of their ability. I spend hours modifying, creating, and altering assignments so that each student can be confident in his/her work and feel like they are able to meet the requirements for every assignment.
My Project
This project has math and reading games that can help students strengthen their reading and math skills while being actively engaged. These games will be used during small group instruction. It has flashlights that we use for indepedent reading. Using flashlights engages them when reading. The books will be used for read alouds at the beginning of the year. The smencils are for rewards. It always motivates students to have a nice new pencil. All students in my class will have access to all of these tools and materials each day.
