Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I am embarking on my second year as a Special Education teacher. This upcoming school year, I will have the opportunity to create a learning environment in a classroom of my own. The items in my cart are intended to enhance the resources available in my new classroom. The Jumbo Magnetic Notebook Paper will support those students who need visuals. I will use the notebook paper to model a lesson, and the students will use their whiteboards to work out the problems. The Wobble Chair Feet, Engagement Wobble Stool, and Flex-Space Balance Ball Sea are especially advantageous for students with ADHD and Autism, as they assist these individuals in maintaining focus during lessons and offer a means of self-regulation in moments of over-stimulation. For instance, I have several students with ADHD, and the wobble stool significantly aids in promoting movement and engagement. I have students with Autism who find the balance ball particularly helpful when they experience restlessness and difficulty concentrating. The Inflated Wobble Cushion Sensory Seat is another favorite among my students. This sensory tool provides an alternative way for them to remain focused in class. Furthermore, students enjoy using these cushions while sitting on the floor, enhancing their comfort and engagement during lessons. Incorporating these resources into the classroom not only supports the diverse needs of my students but also fosters an inclusive learning environment conducive to focus and participation.
