This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our midyear assessments are in and we are making great progress, but there is room for more growth! I want to reinvigorate our class with new materials to target specific learning goals. Giving my students more hands-on tools to practice their reading, writing, and math skills will help me accelerate their learning to meet our end-of-year goals.
The tools I am requesting for this project are specifically to address classroom needs:
1. Writing and drawing supplies for my budding authors! Our new literacy unit focuses on school stories and my students have been using their supplies quickly as they fill their pages.
2. Dry-erase math boards, dry-erase supplies, and zipper envelopes to create math toolkits for my students. The data I am looking at shows me my students need more hands-on representations to help them with their math. I can use these items to create math tool kits with manipulatives for each student.
3. Decodable books to upgrade our classroom library so students can practice foundational literacy skills.
4. Cardstock to create high-frequency word cards and math fluency cards that students can use to practice in school and at home with their families.
5. Shelves and a chair to improve our small group workspace. When students work with me throughout the day, having an organized space maximizes the time we spend learning together.
6. Bulletin board supplies to refresh our word wall and anchor chart displays!
With these supplies, I will be able to give my students what they need to continue their learning this year. I appreciate you considering supporting our classroom, we can't wait for a great rest of the year together!
