This year, our 5th-grade class is very diverse. We come from a variety of social, economic, religious, and racial backgrounds. We speak several different languages, perform on a range of academic levels, and have a variety of academic needs. We come to school each day with a wide range of gifts, talents, and interests.
Despite our differences, there are many more ways we are alike and connected.
We all love to learn and work together in our classroom. I am requesting materials we can use to support our learning needs and prepare us for success. For example, the class set of headphone will allow all students to work on required on-line reading and math programs with less distrations - even if their headphones are left at home or behind in another class. The same holds true for the calculators during our math and science lessons. The pencil holders, chair bands, and sensory stickers will help us stay organized and better focused during lessons. I cannot wait for us to have access to these items each day as they are truly tools to support us at our best!
