I teach a 4th-grade inclusion class at a New York City, Title I elementary school where all children qualify for free breakfast and lunch. My students are both general and special education.
My classroom is a diverse population of students from a mosaic of cultures.
My students thrive when I differentiate instruction to meet their learning needs. I have a diverse family of students who are in language acquisition and basic learning modes. With students of such different learning abilities, I strive to create an inclusive and warm accepting classroom.
This year with COVID, I'm faced with the challenge of a hybrid class that can provide students with a modified learning classroom. My goal is to create a dynamic and warm 4th-grade family where all my students feel free to express themselves and feel pride in who they are. As I tap into the talents of my students, it's important for me to have the supplies they need to create and learn.
You can make a difference by giving my students a wonderful new avenue for expression.
My Project
The use of the Rolling Magnetic Whiteboard is important in my class. The students rely on seeing examples of problems and charts that are in front of them. I can use this board to roll around to different groups to help each child with understanding the material. The wipe off pocket folders will be used as s tool for them to write down information they want to share, and to solve problems during math. The construction paper will be used to create projects that will enhance learning.
By donating to our project you will help make our classroom conducive to learning and fun at the same time.
Students will be able to create, draw, solve and focus with these materials.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
