This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
When you enter the door to our kindergarten class, you will see twenty boys and girls playing and working with manipulatives ranging from counting counters, letter blocks, a magnifying glass, etc. Though my students come from different backgrounds and nationalities, they all learn through play and hands-on experiences. Many of them speak Spanish as a first language.
They yearn to connect and learn from one another.
My students come to kindergarten with a range of prior knowledge; however, I differentiate instruction to cater to all their needs. They are full of energy, and they learn best from moving and acting out.
My Project
As a teacher, I am always looking for materials that will help my curious learners. I do, we do, you do. Modeling is very important in a kindergarten classroom. The document camera will allow me to model instruction and lessons for students. This will help my visual learners succeed. Students will also be able to present and view each others work when using the document camera. Sharing and taking pride in ones work is a great motivator for students. This will allow my students to learn from each other, peer teaching. The printer ink is used daily in our classroom, we use it to print newsletters, student pictures, class projects, small group instruction and more.
Student projects will come to life!
Having a color printer ink in the classroom will allow my students to display their creations. Your donations will promote a more fun, successful school year!
