it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are a sweet group of scholars, friends, and community members. Everyday, these kiddos come to our Zoom class ready to learn and there's nothing like hearing their good mornings and hellos. Their positive energy is contagious and they make me so proud to be their teacher!
My Project
To successfully teach students how to read, I need to learn how reading works. The science has shown that systematic, explicit instruction is the necessary foundation for successful reading. The books that I requested teach about the Science of Reading and offers effective instructional practices for teaching reading. I've started implementing strategies supported by the Science of Reading during distance learning, and have seen monumental progress from my early readers. I have no doubt that if I can learn more about the Science of Reading, I can reach more, if not all readers in the Fall, especially now that we will be returning to in-person schooling.
