Math is hard!! Oftentimes, students enter into a mathematics classroom already fearing the worst. This mindset is developed early on in a child's education and can sometimes even be an environmental effect from parents or older siblings who have stated that math was their worst subject. This overhanging fear hinders students' potential in excelling in the classroom. So what can we do about it? We know mathematics can be difficult, but does it always have to be? The answer is no. We live in a world that uses technology thousands of times a day. Why not use that technology in a productive way in one of the most difficult subjects! One such tool that uses technology is a Ti-30 4 calculator.
The calculator takes away some of the daunting work and allows students to explore and think about ideas.
Purchasing enough tools to support my students' mathematical advances will not only increase our skill and speed in our day-to-day lessons, but will also give them an advantage on their SATs. The Ti-30 calculators that we are in need of are acceptable to be used on their standardized testing. Not all of my students have the means to purchase their own calculator, so having these available to those in need would be greatly beneficial. These calculators will help my students thrive in many ways throughout the mathematical world that we live in today!
