My Project
I teach in an AIS school in Louisville, KY. We are a minority-majority school with a high-poverty student body and some of the most unique and resilient students you could imagine. In my classroom, students are recovering from missed or failed classes. They are with me for the majority of the school day. My goal is to create an environment that is not only a safe place but also a place of comfort and relaxation. In a digital world, having Kindles for student use is phenomenal! They can check out as many digital books as they can read for free from the public library. The games and books will help educate students and bring them closer together, working in highly diverse groups. We have had an influx of English Language Learners in our school, so this will help educate students and help create a safe culture for new ones. Could you help me make this happen for them? I appreciate your support!
