My Project
As a 7th grade special education teacher, I have the privilege of working with an amazing group of students who face academic and emotional challenges every single day—but still show up with curiosity, resilience, and heart. My students are thoughtful, determined, and full of potential. They simply need the right environment and tools to help them feel confident, motivated, and ready to learn.
This project will provide my classroom with essential school supplies, engaging books, and nourishing snacks.
These items may seem small, but together, they play a huge role in shaping a supportive and successful learning space.
The books I’m requesting are tailored to their reading levels and interests—diverse, engaging, and relatable stories that can spark a love for reading and build confidence. The snacks serve as motivators and comfort—offering a small reward for effort and participation, and ensuring no student has to learn on an empty stomach. The school supplies will help keep our classroom organized, reduce stress, and allow every student to participate in lessons without worry about having the right materials.
Many of my students come from low-income households, and some face additional challenges outside of school that impact their learning. By creating a warm, well-stocked, and welcoming classroom, I can help remove some of the barriers that get in the way of their success.
