Help me give my students a great experience with math in forestry. This is a class for at-risk students so they can understand how math is around them in the real world.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I teach at-risk students that they can do math in non-traditional contexts--business, politics, carpentry, forestry, air quality, art, etc. This takes a lot of tools that I don't have. My dad was a forester and I would love to take my kids outside and realize they can stand pretty far from a tree and understand how tall it is using trigonometry.
Most of my students are immigrants and live below the poverty line.
Most of them have never been in a forest and definitely don't know that they can have a job in the forest. I want them to experience this and to learn that they can do the math to be successful in such a job.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
