My students need 2 laptops to access the internet for research purposes, acquire typing skills, practice/ reinforce skills and concepts through online educational game
Save our sanity! Our students rotated on one laptop that was borrowed from another classroom the whole school year. It was really hard to make a consistent schedule, because we were only allowed to use the laptop when the student was absent.
My students are exceptional and are in a fully self contained classroom with a focus on community based instruction.
My students also come from a poverty stricken area; where resources are few and the parents aren't able to help financially. My students are visual, aural, kinesthetic learners that require pictures, music, interactive games, and the sort to help them attain/sustain new concepts & skills.
My Project
These laptops will provide my students with the means to generate their resumes, obtain typing skills, do project based learning assignments, create a newsletter for their class to keep their parents/guardians and the community informed, utilize websites that allow them to build upon new skills learned, create rubrics for their work, identify service providers and jobs, and so much more.
Our laptops are Tools we need because we do not have access to computers on our campus.
We have one lab at the school that is used all year long for testing in the library. We attempted to obtain Public Library cards so we could utilize the computers there, but with past due fees, we were not able to explore this avenue. Please help us better equip ourselves so that we too may access to tools of the 21st century that will make learning engaging! Thank you in advance!!!
