Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Every student in the school attends my class - all students participate in music. Our students need extra support dealing with frustration, anxiety, anger, and confusion. The pandemic - amid other factors - created a scarring effect on our children's well-being.
Tools for Calming Down will provide my students with tactile materials to help them refocus, calm down, and identify the emotions they are struggling with.
The items requested include sensory objects that can be manipulated or watched to help soothe the struggling student. The requested book guides students in identifying their feelings. Also, I've asked for a bin to keep the items together and protect them from misuse.
