A friendly classroom environment is essential to welcoming in students. I'm excited to cover up our harsh fluorescent lighting with something that will inspire and invoke wonder from the students. It will also connect to our literacy unit on the ocean.
A beanbag chair will also be a marked upgrade for our current Calming Corner in the classroom.
Students will be able to relax and reset before joining back into the learning.
Perhaps most importantly, the dry erase boards will support students with hands-on learning. Students will use these during math, science and even writing. Having whiteboards with grids will support graphing, modeling with arrays, base ten, data collection and handwriting.
