Help me give my students a Surface Pro keyboard and stylus so I may give my students engaging excellent video lessons that they can access anytime on the virtual platform.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
This year is the first year I had the honor of teaching seniors. I had no idea that I would not have the opportunity to see my students graduate in person. I have attended football games, soccer matches, and have attended events to support my students and it is heartbreaking to not see them receive their diplomas at the end of the school year. This is especially unfortunate since my students come from low-income households and graduation is a huge accomplishment.
My students and I are now learning to navigate a virtual classroom setting.
Mathematics can be a difficult subject for many students, and providing video tutorials is a great way to help my students learn during these unprecedented times.
My Project
Now that my students and I have navigated through distance learning and virtual learning platforms, together we have learned what works for them and how to maximize engagement during these new educational experiences. I have also learned, that my students have acclimate to this new form of learning all while having to deal with the many hardships they face at home. This project will allow me to support my students with online video tutorials, asynchronous learning tasks, and synchronous learning sessions. These tools will give me the opportunity successfully create lessons that my students can access at anytime that will help them better understand mathematics.
