My Students
Virtual reality is available as accessible media, if you can afford the tools. As a career and technical education teacher, I want to introduce my students to the future of media on the web, but my district and department can't afford to bring the tools into my classroom. More than a third of my students are from low-income households and don't have access to technology outside of my classroom. That's why we need your help!
In order to teach my students how to design their own virtual reality creations, I need to provide a state-of-the-art system for students to design and test their virtual creations.
My school offers classes in computer science, engineering, web and graphic design, animation and digital video. We are the middle school arts magnet for our district, and I want my students to be learning relevant and emerging technologies that are available to them to tell their own stories.

My Project
Students will create characters, settings and serious games.
My vision is to have students create original VR games that focus on rigorous and relevant topics, but without your help, none of this will be a reality.
We will be coding on our iMacs in A-Frame, a web framework for building virtual reality experiences built by Mozilla.
These resources will be used by students to create their own original Virtual Reality content, primarily in Game Design classes. Students will be using A-Frame to code Virtual Reality games that will be designed, tested, and played by students, for students.
