My Students

What is an iPad? How could five and six year old children benefit from the apps on an Apple iPad? There are so many educational uses for children on the iPad and technology is a fun way to learn!

I teach at a school in central Florida.

We have a population of students that are economically challenged. 81% of the students qualify for free/reduced lunch program and we are a Title 1 school. The students are very needy and need much in the way of resources.

My Project

I am requesting 1 iPad for my classroom. Imagine children using an iPad to learn their letter sounds, build words, or play counting games. Applications for the iPad are endless! We do have computers for the children to use with limited software programs that are older technology. An iPad would allow my students to use up-to-date technology and have fun while they are learning.

My students are from low socio-economic families and many do not have access to technology in their homes.

I feel that getting the opportunity to use technology by using an iPad and the applications will affect my students' education in a positive manner.
