My Students

My kids are SO excited to learn and be in "big" kid school! They are curious, adventurous, funny, and loving. Four year olds are on the go and busy bees in the classroom.

They are learning how to do school and my hope is that they will just love it so much that they can't wait to come every single day.

There are 28 students in a small space and many have never been to school before.

These kids are from a variety of backgrounds and parental support and are all in need of a fun learning environment that meets their needs.

My Project

Flexible seating will give a breath of fresh air into a small classroom space by adding spaces for kids to be kids. Kids will get to sit in their own comfort zone every day and not be asked to sit still in a chair at 4 years old! The colors of the flexible seating are inviting and enjoyable. Learning how to do school while still being so young will be enhanced by the ability to work in a variety of ways. Students can choose to use a colorful over size pillow to work on the floor or choose wobble chair to keep moving while doing work at their tables. They will be able to choose to sit or stretch out on a bouncy ball in order to keep their body in motion or find a better sitting position instead of feet flat on the floor. Students may choose a soft seat cushion that will feel better than the carpet and allow them a chance to cross their legs and balance instead of sitting straight in a chair. No matter what kind of seats they choose, they will feel in control of their bodies and be able to wiggle while they work!
