My Students

The beginning of the school year should be an exciting time for students. Walking into a sweltering hot classroom is not the kind of experience I want my students to have. Please help save us from this heat!

My students are enthusiastic learners who need extra help to learn basic reading and math skills.

They are a part of an International Baccalaureate school where inquiry is at the center of their learning. They are curious children who enjoy working in cooperative groups.

My Project

A portable air conditioning unit is a necessity for my students. Our beautiful school was built in the 1950's. Over the years there have been many upgrades but adding permanent air conditioning units to each room was not one of them. In order for my students to be successful in the classroom, they need to be in a comfortable, healthy, and safe environment. Thinking, learning, collaborating,and communicating take place when our bodies are at a reasonable temperature. Trying to work in 100 degree heat would be difficult for anyone.

The impact that a portable air conditioning unit would have on my current and future students is immeasurable.

They already think that our school is an amazing place to be. Staying cool in the classroom when it's so hot outside will make it even better.
