Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
"Good morning Scholars! Why did you come to school today?" "We came to school to learn!" This is the morning chant that all students at our school participate in before class starts.
Students are eager to learn and love a challenge.
The majority of my students are Latino and/or African-American. Our school is located in a working class neighborhood of Southwest Los Angeles. Everyday we strive to ensure that our students are college bound and ready to be positive contributors to their community and society at large.
My Project
Students will use the IPEVO interactive whiteboard system to become fully engaged in curriculum presented to them via educational websites that utilize up-to-date interactive technology.
This system affords students the opportunity to collaborate in real-time using technology that provides multi sensory engagement.
Students will use this tool to draw, write, record videos and create projects in new and innovative ways that showcase their learning through dynamic multimedia presentations.
Studies have shown that there is a direct correlation between student engagement and the use of technology in the classroom. In order for students to become tomorrow’s innovators they need access to education that inspires them today.
