My Students

Our school is a great example of what can be done when a committed community rallies behind their local school. We are committed as a school to ensuring that all students learn and grow. Our staff, families, and community realize that to reach a diverse group of learners we need to be innovative!

Our students come from various backgrounds--but they all have one thing in common--an intense thirst for knowledge!

They take advantage of any and all opportunities to learn and grow. Although some live in poverty, they refuse to let anyone's preconceived notions define them. Anyone who has spent a day with our scholars realizes that they are determined and focused--and nothing will stop them from reaching success in the present and in the future!

My Project

Differentiating learning to meet individual needs is crucial to any effective classroom and student achievement. The Ipad Pro will allow me, as the teacher, to personalize learning experiences for each student, save their work in digital form, use photos from everyday life to act as 'sparks' to great conversations and expose my students to technology that their peers take for granted in other parts of the city.

It will be used for everything including handwriting, evidence gathering through photos and movie maker, research, number correspondence, to music maker, exercise and activity generator and motivator, informal and formal assessment and data collection.

It will centralize learning and assessment for both students and myself.

I will use this tablet to enable students to work and learn in digital form and save on photocopying and time wasted in paper form being scanned to digital form. The stylus will enable students to develop fine motor skills with use the on media that is new, exciting and innovative. It is extremely portable and whenever we go on field trips or move around the school we will be able to capture experiences and essentially make every space we visit, in and out of school, our learning environment through photos, on the spot research and up to date apps.
