My Students

I teach a large kindergarten class made up of 20 eager and ready to learn 5 year olds in a high poverty area of South Carolina.

My students come from a low-income, rural area, but are very eager to learn new things. They attend a large elementary school that houses prekindergarten through fifth grade.

My Project

I am requesting a variety of materials for my students to include word building puzzles, a CVC word work center, sight word games, and new sight word readers. My students will use these reading materials to become better readers. The books are leveled for them to be reading level appropriate for my students so they will enjoy reading them. The reading games will help them to become better readers by helping them learn to sound out words and learn the important sight words.

These reading games and new books will help my students become better readers.

By improving their reading skills, my students will continue to develop a love of reading and become lifelong readers.
