Help me give my students leveled readers as all of my students deserve the chance to be independent readers.

My Students

My students are so special because the issues that they have overcome would amaze you. Their learning disabilities do not stand in the way of their accomplishments.

My students learn to read books, add and subtract, cook meals for themselves, and even vocational skills that will help them sustain a job on some type in the future.

I am excited to go to work everyday to see what new skills will be acquired and new accomplishments will be made by these children who light the world!

My Project

My lowest readers can read anywhere from 7-30 sight words and finding books for them to check out from the library each week is at times a challenge. My para-pros along with myself have to read to those who cannot read independently many times per day, during reading period, vocational reading time, and library time. While we are more than happy to do this, we want to allow our students the opportunities to read independently during these times.

Having these leveled readers available to the academically lower students would be a blessing as it would be something that is attainable for them to do independently during reading period and beyond.
