Today a Reader...Tomorrow a Leader! 4.0

Help me give my students engaging, diverse book choices in what they choose to read by implementing literature circles and building a classroom library full of engaging, high-interest, culturally relevant books.

FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Cunha's classroom raised $505

My Students

Our middle school has a diverse student population that includes students from five school districts. More than one-third of our middle school students come from low-income households. Many students struggle with reading issues and read below grade level. Additionally, it can be difficult to engage students while still having them think critically.

Our amazing, diverse students are eager to improve and have the drive to succeed!

Our students need high-interest, age-appropriate chapter books. In addition, my students need dry-erase boards in order to respond to answers in a quick, engaging manner. By increasing age appropriate, high interest chapter books to my classroom library, I will strive to foster a love for reading.

Our students need high-interest, age-appropriate chapter books. In addition, my students need opportunities to collaborate with their peers. By increasing age-appropriate, high-interest chapter books to my classroom library, I will strive to foster a love for reading. The five copies of several texts will be utilized to implement literature circles where students will work in virtual breakout rooms and/or in small groups in the classroom to read, analyze, and collaborate on high interest, relevant chapter books.
