Thank you for considering a donation to my classroom! I hope to enhance my available reading materials so that my students find something they enjoy. I teach reading to all 3rd graders at my school and reading levels vary from 1st to 5th grade. I have reading materials that are specifically in the middle, and we do not all learn at the same rate. I would use these books in reading groups and use the magazine as a whole class to engage my students.
Half of the battle in learning to read is finding joy and love for what you are reading.
Most of the books that were provided are pretty outdated. We do have a lot of electronic books available through various apps, but nothing beats curling up and getting lost in a good book! I would love to entice these young readers to find what they enjoy to read about and build from there.
