Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This project includes three categories of books for my classroom library. The first group includes books specifically about Hispanic countries as well as books with characters who are from a variety of Spanish speaking countries. Many of my students have Hispanic heritages and I would love to better represent their culture with the literature in our library. The second group of books are books that are easier for struggling readers to access (due to their illustrations and format), and yet are still high interest series that will draw the students' interest. The last group of books are related to the topics of our reading curriculum. I really wanted to extend the children's learning of the topics and extend their vocabulary in all of the topic areas.
